Pokhara, August 18

The Kaski District Administration Office on Tuesday has decided to impose a restrictive order in the district, beginning midnight today, in its bid to control the coronavirus outbreak in the district.

A meeting of the District Covid-19 Prevention, Control, and Management Committee held on Tuesday made the decision to impose the order until next Sunday.

While the order is in effect, the public will be barred from coming out of their houses except for emergency works, informs the District Administration Office. All businesses and shops except those providing services and goods related to health, security, electricity, telecommunication, drinking water, milk and dairy products, petroleum products, medicines, waste management, vegetables, and foodstuffs will be shut.

DAO officials say the order can be extended beyond Sunday next week if need be.

Just on Monday night and Tuesday morning, Pokhara metropolitan city alone had recorded 15 new infection cases.
