EPL: Lalitpur Patriots win the opening match

Kathmandu, December 18

Lalitpur Patriots won the first match of this year’s Everest Premier League.

The team led by national team vice-captain Gyanendra Malla defeated Kathmandu Kings XI by seven wickets at the match played at TU cricket ground in Kirtipur.

The Patriots won the match thanks to excellent batting bowling performance of foreign members of the team. The team reached the 90-run target in 16.4 overs at the loss of three wickets. Indian Jaykishan Kolsawala scored highest 44 runs not-out for the team.

Likewise, captain Malla scored 20 runs as Malla and opener Kolsawala did a 54-run partnership.

In the first innings, the Kings Xi had scored 89 runs at the loss of all wickets in 18.3 overs. Opener Amit Shrestha made the highest 27 runs. Four batsmen of the team failed to make any score.

There are six teams participating in one of the biggest T20 tournaments in the country.
