EPL: Bhairahawa Gladiators reach qualifiers

Defeating Pokhara Rhinos by seven wickets, Bhairahawa Gladiators led by Sharad Vesawkar have been elevated to the qualifiers round of ongoing Everest Premier League on Monday.

At the match played at the TU cricket stadium in Kirtipur of Kathmandu, Gladiators defeated Rhinos by seven wickets. With this, they won three of five matches played and were selected for the qualifiers with six points.

Paras Khadka’s Biratnagar Warriors have also been selected for the qualifiers as they earned 10 points with five victories.

At the match today, Gladiators met the meagre target of 109 runs set by Rhinos at the loss of just three wickets in 17.4 overs. Opener Pradeep Airee was out in the second over after making two runs and another opener Pratham Salunke made 26 runs. Vesawkar and Aarif Sheikh’s 73-run partnership in the fourth wicket led the team to victory. Sheikh and Vesawkar contributed 48 and 32 runs respectively.

In the first over, Rhinos won the toss and elected to bat. They were all-out in 18.3 overs after making 108 runs.
