Kathmandu, April 22

Minister of Education, Science and Technology Bidya Bhattarai has resigned from her position. A source close to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli informed that she submitted her resignation after meeting Prime Minister on Monday.

“She had some health issues, but the reason for her resignation now is not health-related,” said a leader from the CPN-UML. According to him, the main reason behind Bhattarai’s resignation was a disagreement with Prime Minister Oli.

Rajendra Gautam, head of the UML’s publicity department, also stated that her resignation was not due to health problems, but rather due to the ongoing teachers’ protest.

“It has been several days since the protest started, and a solution could not be reached. In such a situation, the minister’s resignation helps avoid further confusion,” he said.
