Kathmandu, September 24
National Medical College and Teaching Hospital in Birgunj has instructed its first-year postgraduate (PG) resident doctors to leave the college immediately.
The college has announced that all academic activities for these resident doctors, including classes, clinical postings, departmental training, and ward and emergency duties, are suspended until further notice.
In a notice issued Thursday by the college’s principal and hostel superintendent, it was stated that, due to the current academic and institutional situation, a formal request had been made to the Institute of Medicine (IOM) and Tribhuvan University to recall the first-year PG resident doctors of the 2082 academic session from the college.
The college said that until further notice, all classes, academic activities, clinical postings, departmental training, ward/emergency duties, and other training activities for first-year PG resident doctors will remain suspended.
The notice also instructs the resident doctors to move out of their hostel rooms, quarters, or other college housing within 12 hours.
They have been directed to hand over any college property in their possession to the hostel administration or the administrative office.
Similarly, the notice states that resident doctors must complete the necessary handover process within the specified period and remove their personal belongings from the residential premises.
