Kathmandu, May 24

Ten Nepali workers died at 2 am on Sunday in a landslide at Chitra Village, Dehradun, India, Indian media reported. Local officials told the media that they recovered the victims’ bodies on Monday afternoon.

The landslide occurred when these workers were taking shelter in a cave to shield themselves from strong winds, the media reported.

According to Hindustan Times, 16 workers were taking shelter in the cave. Rescuers have rescued six workers alive.

Officials said they launched a rescue operation right after getting information that lives were in peril. Police are conducting post-mortems.
