Police in Darchula district have arrested a couple on the charge of killing their own 10-month-old daughter.
Nabin Bista and his wife Shila killed their infant by setting her ablaze at their house in Chukpani, Byas Rural Municipality-5 of the district on Thursday night, according to police.
The couple tried to run away from the incident site after committing the crime, but locals detained them and submitted to police, according to Inspector Rabindra Kathayat, acting chief of the District Police Office.
Local police have submitted the couple to the District Police Office.
Further investigation is underway, according to DPO spokesperson Hikmat Bahadur Bohora.
