Kathmandu, September 23
A defendant who had absconded in a rape case has been arrested.
The person arrested is 26-year-old Aryan Puri of Panchpokhari Thangpal Rural Municipality-7, Sindhupalchok. He was arrested by the police’s Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) on Tuesday.
Puri had been sentenced to 18 years in prison in a rape case and was serving his sentence at Nakkhu Prison Office in Lalitpur when he absconded during the Gen Z movement.
He was arrested at Kuntabesi, Mandandeupur Municipality-8, Kavre, and has been sent back to Nakkhu Prison to serve his sentence.
