Ruling Nepal Communist Party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has stressed that the current government should be strengthened further in order to make it serve the public better. He says his party is ready to correct its past mistakes so as to improve its performance.

Speaking at a function organised to commemorate the death of the then CPN-Maoist leaders Suresh Wagle and Bhimsen Pokharel during the armed conflict in Kathmandu on Monday, Dahal said there was not an alternative to strengthening the party and the government together.

He reiterated that there were efforts to subvert the democratic republic system, but added that the efforts would not be successful.

“If we made some mistakes, we want to correct them. If we lack something, we will move ahead towards fulfilling them,” he said, “But, efforts to reverse republicanism and inclusive democracy cannot be tolerated.”
