Kathmandu, February 11

The government has begun distributing Covid-19 booster doses to all people except minors in all 77 districts of the country.

The Department of Health Services under the Ministry of Health and Population on Thursday issued a circular to all district health offices across the country, directing them to provide booster doses to all people except minors if they have completed six months after receiving full doses.

If people have recently been infected with the virus, they can take the booster after one month of recovery.

Officials have been told to prioritise frontline workers, senior citizens, people with chronic diseases and pregnant women in the vaccination campaign.

Currently, Covishield, AstraZeneca, Moderna and Pfizer vaccines are available for booster doses. The government has already decided that people who had received Vero Cell vaccines in the past can also receive Covishield or AstraZeneca in the booster shot.
