Nepal has barred anyone from coming to Nepal via Rasuwagadhi and Tatopani points, bordering Tibet of China, in its effort to protect the country from the coronavirus epidemic that has haunted the northern neighour.

The restriction will last for the next 15 days from now, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs. “The movement has been closed for 15 days after an agreement between the two countries,” confirms the ministry’s spokesperson Kedar Nath Sharma.

More than 100 people have died of the infection in China, where the virus originated, in the past few weeks whereas over 6,000 are infected. So far, Nepal has reported two infection cases in the people who recently came to Nepal from or via China.
