Kathmandu, July 24

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said on Sunday he will not let the country slip into chaos. PM Oli said he will arrest the slide using the collective strength of the Nepali people.

There are constitutional complexities in the formation of a new government, PM Oli said, adding: The Supreme Court will interpret this, not me.

Oli said this while talking to Ravi Lamichhane of Nepal Television on Saturday.

Asked about the possible way ahead at a time when a no-confidence motion has already been filed against his government, Oli said: Efforts are on to push the country into a state of uncertainty. I, my party and other parties that are with us will try to block these efforts.

PM further said: We will not let efforts to push the country towards ruinage succeed. We will block them through conscious efforts of the people. And the country will move in a positive direction.

In the life of this nation, efforts were made on several occasions to push the country into a vacuum by causing constitutional and political crises. Parties brought the country back from the brink. This time also, we will not let bids to push the country into a wrong path succeed.

PM Oli said there are constitutional complexities in the formation of a new government. He said the Supreme Court will interpret the matter. Oli said he is ready to help solve these complexities.
