
Kathmandu, January 8
Police in Kathmandu say they have arrested a staffer at Bauddha branch of Civil Bank on the charge of embezzling Rs 4 million from the bank.
Maheshwor Dangol, an assistant at the bank, was arrested by a team of Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police recently.
CIB spokesperson SP Jeevan Shrestha says the arrest follows a complaint lodged by the bank against him.
It has been learned that Dangol deposited the money of bank into his personal account via e-banking.
Police have filed a banking offence case against him and further investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, the CIB says it is also investigation into embezzlement of Rs 50 million of Argicultural Development Bank, New Road branch.
