Chitwan, March 21
Police in the Chitwan district of southern Nepal have arrested a school teacher on the charge of sexually abusing a minor student.
Suraj Lamichhane (37), a resident of Madi municipality-5 of the district, has been accused of abusing a 15-year-old girl studying at a local school.
Police say they arrested Lamichhane after the suspected survivor’s mother lodged a complaint against him at the Madi Area Police Office.
The incident had come into the limelight almost a week ago, and the students had smeared soot on his face on March 13. However, the police were not informed of the incident until March 17.
