Butwal, December 26

An investigation team mobilised by the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police has arrested a police officer in Butwal of Rupandehi on the charge of illegally seizing a trader’s valuables.

The team confiscated around 400 grams of gold and Rs 2.5 million in cash from his possession.

DSP Thug Bahadur KC, stationed at the Butwal Area Police Office, was arrested on Sunday evening. KC was all set to leave for Pokhara on Monday as the police headquarters recently transferred him there, but the CIB team arrested him on the eve.

Last month, KC reportedly seized 400 grams of gold from a trader. He then demanded Rs 2.5 million to release that, but at last, kept both money and gold within himself.
