Butwal, March 12
The Butwal-Palpa road section along the Siddhartha Highway will be blocked for eight hours every day beginning this Saturday for maintenance and upgrading.
The Division Road Office in Palpa says the restriction will continue for 12 days. From March 14 to 25, the vehicles cannot ply the road between 7 and 9 am, between 12 and 3 pm and between 8 and 11 pm.
The office chief Mukunda Raj Adhikari says the periods for restriction were fixed in a way that the passengers and motorists would be least affected. Concerned government officials and stakeholders have also been consulted, according to him.
During the 12 days, the workers will widen the road at turns so that the risk of vehicles falling off the road will be minimised. The division office is improving the road under the Highway Upgrading Project.
