British ambassador meets NCP chair Dahal

British Ambassador to Nepal Nicola Pollitt on Thursday met the ruling Nepal Communist Party’s executive chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal at his residence in Khumaltar of Lalitpur.

According to Dahal’s secretariat, the two talked about the bilateral relationships between the two countries, along with political and economic developments in Nepal and the peace process in the country. However, the details of the talk regarding the peace process have not been disclosed by either of the party.

Dahal talked about and lauded Britain’s role including the help of the British people in Nepal’s development. “Nepal and Britain have a relationship that is centuries-old. I believe the relationship will strengthen in your tenure,” the secretariat quoted Dahal.

He also mentioned that Britain’s help would be inevitable in Nepal’s path towards economic prosperity.

The British ambassador recalled her experience in Nepal about 20 years ago for trekking in the Annapurna region and expressed commitment that Britan would continue to extend its help to Nepal.
