Former Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said that the country is heading towards a major crisis.
In a social media post, he pointed to growing geopolitical manoeuvring in the country, intensifying internal conflicts within both ruling and opposition parties, and disorder in key state institutions, including the judiciary, administration and police.
He further wrote, “The continued decline of the economy, the growing burden of natural disasters, the persistent exodus of young people abroad, and mounting frustration in the public communication sector and civil society, among other factors, indicate that the country is heading towards a major crisis.”
According to him, the country can no longer withstand instability and upheaval under any pretext.
“Let everyone take their responsibilities seriously in their respective fields. If we can, let us make a positive contribution. If we cannot, let us refrain from doing anything negative,” he wrote.
