The Nepal Telecommunications Authority has urged people not to post graphic and distressing photos and videos on social media and online platforms.
The authority issued the appeal through text messages sent to mobile phone users.
The message states, “At this time of disaster, when devastating floods and landslides have caused significant loss of life and property, we request everyone not to post graphic and distressing photos, videos or other content on social media and online platforms. If such content has already been posted, please remove it immediately.”
The authority issued the appeal in the context of the situation following the Rasuwa floods.
