Kathmandu, July 26
The Lalitpur District Administration Office on Friday removed 52 vegetable stalls kept on a busy roadside in Jawalakhel of the district.
The Office had issued a notice on Tuesday urging the vendors to remove their belongings and temporary structures within three days.
Whereas the vendors had already removed their belongings, the structures were intact there. The authority used a dozer to remove the temporary structures.
Chief District Officer Prem Raj Joshi says the officials were trying to remove the stalls for past eight years.
The shops were in operation there for around 20 years and a local youth club would collect monthly rent from the vendors.
Earlier, the vendors had filed an application at the Patan High Court demanding they are not removed, but the court had scrapped the writ.
