Arzu Rana Deuba likely to contest FPTP polls from Kailali-5

Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s wife, Arzu Rana Deuba, is likely to contest the first-past-the-post polls for the House of Representatives membership from Kailali Constituency 5.

Earlier in 2013, Rana was elected to Parliament under the proportional representation category.

Meanwhile, leading political figures from Province 7, who are active in national politics, have been recommended by their respective parties to contest in the House of Representatives and State Assembly elections.

Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Deuba has been unanimously picked as the party’s candidate to contest the House of Representatives elections from Dadeldhura, his home district.

Similarly, CPN-UML Vice-Chairman Bhim Rawal has been unanimously selected as the party’s candidate to contest the House of Representatives elections from Achham district.

Nepali Congress influential leaders Dilendra Prasad Badu, Narayan Prakash Saud and Ramesh Lekhak have been recommended to contest the federal Parliament elections from Darchula district, Kanchanpur-2 and Kanchanpur-3 respectively.
