Nepal’s renowned anti-human trafficking activist Anuradha Koirala on Sunday joined Prime Minister Sher Bahadur  Deuba’s Nepali Congress party.

The founder of Maiti Nepal, Koirala was welcomed to the party by Deuba at a function organised at his official residence in Baluwatar today.

Koirala says she decided to join politics of Nepali Congress after realising that the party would materialise dreams for economic growth and prosperity in the country.

“It is only the Congress that can establish every community’s rights to take the country to prosperity,” she says, “Everyone’s right and development is possible under the umbrella of democracy.”
