All National Assembly candidates in Province 2 elected unopposed

Province 2

Kathmandu, January 28

After a candidate of Federal Socialist Party Nepal withdrew his nomination for the National Assembly elections, all eight candidates of the polls from Province 2 have become elected unanimously.

Mohammad Akhtar Hussen, who had filed his nomination under the open category, withdrew his candidacy today.

Earlier, three women, one Dalit and one minority member were already elected, but there were four persons contesting for three positions.

The party’s Chairman Rijwan Ansari says his party decided to withdraw the candidacy owing to a request from all other parties.

Polls for the Upper House are being held for February 7 in all provinces.
