Kathmandu, April 5
Political parties have finalised a power-sharing arrangement for the post of Vice-Chairperson of the National Assembly and the vacant committee chair positions.
Under the agreement, the Vice-Chairperson post has gone to CPN-UML, with Lila Bhandari appointed to the role.
Similarly, the Nepali Congress has secured chairmanship of two committees — the Development, Economic Affairs and Good Governance Committee, and the Legislative Management Committee.
The Nepal Communist Party has been allocated the chair of the Federalism Strengthening and National Concerns Committee, while the Janata Samajwadi Party has received the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee.
The arrangement reflects an agreement among major parties to share key positions in the upper house.
