The number of newly registered bills in the House of Representatives has reached seven, including the Federal Civil Service Bill, 2083, which was registered on the final day of the parliamentary session.

President Ram Chandra Paudel, on the government’s recommendation, prorogued the session effective midnight on October 2.

Six additional bills were registered after the session ended, according to Giri.

They include the Nepal Civil Aviation Authority Bill, the Nepal Air Services Authority Bill, the Good Governance (Management and Operation) (First Amendment) Bill, the Buildings (Second Amendment) Bill, the National Road Safety Bill, and the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Bill.

The committee report on the Nepal Rastra Bank Third Amendment Bill has been prepared and received by the parliamentary secretariat, Giri said.

A total of 12 bills have been passed by both houses of the Federal Parliament and authenticated by the president. Parliament has also approved six treaties and conventions.

Committees to resume discussions after Dashain

The parliamentary secretariat plans to resume discussions on bills pending in committees after the Dashain holiday.

Before the recess, committees had been conducting clause-by-clause discussions on some bills, while preliminary deliberations had begun on others.

The secretariat said discussions would resume after the holiday with the aim of moving the bills towards a conclusion.
