Chief Minister of the Sudurpaschim province, Trilochan Bhatta, has stressed the need of giving top priority to agriculture.
Addressing a day-long seminar organised for the chiefs of the Agriculture Knowledge Centre and Agriculture Contact Office in all nine districts of the province in Dipayal today, CM Bhatta said more investment had to be poured in agriculture for the development of the province. He claimed the province was suitable for agriculture.
“The face of Sudurpaschim province could be transformed if we could work focusing more on the agriculture sector, ” he said and urged the agriculture offices to invest more time and money in agriculture activities to support the farmers.
A majority of the office chiefs participating in the seminar said that investment in the sector could not be made to the desired extent due to the paucity of budgetary funds.
