Ashish Lama scored a brace to help Armed Police Force register a tight win against the Nepal Army.
Scoring in the 56th and the 85th minute, Lama helped APF beat Nepal Army 2-1 on Sunday to end army’s chances of winning the title.
Nawayug Shrestha scored a goal in the 86th minute for the army. But it proved to be a mere consolation. Nepal Army are 12 points behind league leaders Manang Marsyangdi.
In another match played on Sunday, Manang beat Nepal Police Club 1-0 to maintain their 100 per cent win rate in the league. Adelaja Somide scored the only goal of the match in the 52nd minute by capitalising on a defensive lapse by Nepal Police.
With this win, Manang now have 30 points from 10 games. Manang are five points clear of Sankata who are in second place and seven clear of Three Star, placed third.
