The Government of Nepal has expressed concern over the rising tensions between India and Pakistan following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India, on April 22. The attack claimed the lives of tourists, including one Nepali national.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs extended solidarity with India, noting that both nations stood united in shared grief and suffering during this tragic period.

Nepal recalled its immediate and unequivocal condemnation of the “barbaric terrorist attack,” reiterating its firm stance against all forms of terrorism. The government emphasized that Nepal stands with the global community in the fight against terrorism.

“In line with its principled position, Nepal shall not allow any inimical forces to use its soil against its neighbouring countries,” the statement read.

The Ministry further expressed hope for de-escalating regional tension and stated Nepal’s commitment to lasting peace and regional stability.
