Kathmandu, January 6
A 27-year-old woman from the Dhading district of Bagmati has died in a motorbike accident in Kalanki of Kathmandu in the wee hours of Thursday.
Sophiya Shrestha (27), a resident of Dhading but currently living in Naikap of Kathmandu, was riding pillion on the motorbike (Province 2-02-011 Pa 4689) that hit a road divider after the rider lost control over the vehicle, according to police.
Seriously injured in the accident that occurred at around 1:45 am today, Shrestha breathed her last during treatment at the National Trauma Centre, according to police.
The bike rider, Ram Sharan Dhakal (31), a resident of Gorkha, is also injured and is undergoing treatment at the same facility.
