Yak Attack: World’s highest race to be held on November 11

Kathmandu, August 8

Yak Attack, the highest mountain bike race on earth, is going to be held in Nepal from November 11-19.

Yak Attack covers over 400km and reaches altitudes of 12,000m.

The race will start from Besi Sahar (760m) on November 11 and end at Kagbeni (2800m) going through the Thorong Pass (5416m) on 19 November. The race will have a total of seven stages.

Organisers say that the 2019 edition will have even more single track than ever before and include more Enduro sections – including the highest timed enduro section, from 5416m down to 2800m above sea level.

The seven stages will also include two very unique loops around Besi Sahar and Kagenbi.

The cost of taking part in the race is $2,495 which includes coach transfer to and from Kathmandu, 10 nights accommodation, breakfast and dinner, all necessary permits, 80 litre Yak Attack duffle bag to be used during the race, transfer of luggage between each stage, via jeep or porter, physical and GPS route marking, water stations with drinking water, fruit etc., full medical support, including qualified doctors and bike wash facilities.
