
Kathmandu, June 5
Multibillion rupee fraudster Sudheer Basnet has been released from the jail after completing multiple sentences, on Monday. The Dillibazaar-based prison has confirmed the news.
Basnet had been operating eight companies including Oriental Cooperative, Kohinoor Hill Housing, and Ayesha Builders among others.
He was arrested on the charge of multiple fraud cases on December 28, 2016.
The Kathmandu District Court and Bhaktapur District Court had sentenced jail terms to Basnet.
The Kathmandu District Court had sentenced him with a two-year jail term and Rs 59,197,000 fine for a fraud case and sentenced six-month jail term and Rs 494,000 fine in another fraud case.
Likewise, Bhaktapur District Court had slapped him a two-year jail term with Rs 84,648 fine.
He was released after serving all the punishments.
