Kathmandu, May 20

In a bid to provide a sigh of relief to the public from everyday dust and pollution, the government of Province 3 has put forth a proposal to make streets here pollution-free.

Provincial Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development, Keshav Sthapit, has proposed the plan and the provincial government is preparing to sign an agreement with an American company for the same.

According to the Ministry, the government is in contact with Steadfast to use an eco-friendly chemical on the road to stop the pollution.

Various countries including Romania, Peru and Costa Rica among others use the chemical for road construction.

A meeting of the people’s representatives with representatives of the company in Nepal was held in Kathmandu on Saturday to discuss the proposal.

During the meeting, the company representatives claimed the technology would ensure that the roads would not be damaged for at least five years.
