Kathmandu, October 8
The democratic alliance under the leadership of Nepali Congress has authorised top leaders of constituent parties to distribute constituencies among them.
Now, Prime Minister and Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba will hold different meetings with chairpersons of other parties in a bid to finalise the distribution in consensus.
Earlier, six parties had formed a task force under the leadership of Congress leader Bimalendra Nidhi to prepare grounds for the alliance. However, the panel could not iron out anything about the distribution of constituencies, according to Nepal Democratic Forum leader Ram Janam Chaudhary.
The top leaders will finalise the numbers of constituencies for each member of the alliance and assign the task force to distribute constituencies and districts.
Meanwhile, the constituent parties have agreed that they go to the polls with their own election symbols.
The Democratic Forum and Kamal Thapa-led Rastriya Prajatantra Party have demanded 20 constituencies each.
