Kathmandu, September 5
The Buddha Air says it will operate daily flights between Bharatpur of Chitwan and Pokhara of Kaski from September 15. The company will be the first airline to operate flights along this route.
The company says it is launching the service as the Narayangadh-Muglin road, the shortest road route to connect the two cities, is getting frequently obstructed due to landslides.
Because Pokhara and Chitwan are popular tourism hubs of the country, it is expected that foreign tourists will also benefit from the service.
The company says some tourism entrepreneurs had also requested it to operate flights along the route.
An 18-seater aircraft will take off the Pokhara Airport at 10 am everyday whereas the take-off in Bharatpur will be scheduled for 10:30, according to company’s Bharatpur-based manager, Bhakta Bahadur Basnet.
The one-way airfare has been fixed at Rs 3,600.
