Auditor General Tankamani Sharma says he will halt the promotion and transfer of officials who fail to conduct audit of their offices on time.
The Office of the Auditor General is preparing to take action against office chiefs if they fail to conduct the audit of transactions at their offices, says Sharma.
“No one will get spared if they are involved in financial anomaly,” Sharma says, “We are also preparing to reveal the names of office chiefs who do not carry out the audit.”
Likewise, the Office will also categorise staff and offices on the basis of their accountability performance and make it public, according to Sharma.
The Office has recently prepared a six-year strategic plan to maintain financial discipline and expedite arrears settlement.
