Former King Gyanendra Shah has been advised to take rest at hospital for next few days after he underwent a successful angioplasty, the Norvic International Hospital says.

Doctors had admitted the former monarch to the hospital this morning after a routine check showed signs of some clog in his arteries.

Following that, he had undergone angiography and angioplasty to widen the obstructed arteries, says RP Mainali of the Hospital.

Mainali says Shah’s condition is normal.

A team led by Dr Yadav Bhatta comprising Dr Shivaji Bikram Silwal, Dr Shekhar Rajbhandari and Dr Nama Shrestha is looking after the former ruler.
