Kathmandu, June 14
Trade unions of government staff affiliated to major political parties have demanded that the government promote all staff transferred to newly established local levels by a rank.
Likewise, they demanded that the provision about termination of service upon failure to report to the new workplace within 35 days be removed.
Trade unions including those affiliated to Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, CPN-Maoist Centre and Madhesh-centric parties issued a statement today objecting to some key provisions of a bill that has been tabled in Parliament about the adjustment of staff into the new local level structure.
They also expressed dissatisfaction that the government did not discuss with them while drafting the bill.
They have warned of launching a stern agitation if their demands were not heeded.
