Seven ministers of state in the Prachanda-led government have not submitted details of their properties to the government thus far.

According to the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers, the seven ministers are from the Nepali Congress. The office’s website states that the details of these state ministers were not available.

As per the Corruption Elimination Act, anyone appointed in public office should submit details of their properties within 60 days of their appointment. The government had appointed these ministers a month ago.

The standard practice was to submit property details within 15 days of appointment. Apparently, these ministers are not following this practice.

Minister of State for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Sita Ram Mahato, Minister of State for Health Tara Man Gurung, Minister of State for Commerce Subarna Jwarchan, Minister of State for Tourism and Civil Aviation Indra Bahadur Baniya, Minister of State for Labour and Employment Dilip Khawas Gachchhadar, Minister of State for Industries Kanchan Chandra Bade and Minister of State for Urban Development Mithu Malla have not submitted details of their properties.
