Chief of Army Staff Gen Rajendra Chhetri says the Nepali Army is committed to fulfilling its responsibilities and prepared to deal with the challenges facing the country.
“Safeguarding the sovereignty, territorial integrity, national unity, and independence of the country are the major responsibilities of the army. It will do its part to save the country from any internal and external challenges in accordance with the new Constitution,” he said while addressing an ex-army conference in Udaypur.
The conference was attended by 1,320 former army personnel from Khotang, Solukhumbu, Okhaldhunga and Udayapur districts. At least 1,038 former army personnel underwent a check-up at a camp organised on the sidelines of the conference. Similarly, Gen Chhetri felicitated 91-year-old ex-army personnel Ratna Bahadur Katuwal for his contribution to the army.
