3 killed in Kathmandu truck collision

Kathmandu, November 12

Three persons have died when two trucks collided in Kalanki of Kathmandu on Thursday morning.

A truck (Ba 5 Kha 8865) heading towards Sitapaila from Balkhu carrying poultry had hit another truck (Ba 3 Kha 7530) parked in front of local Makalu Petrol Pump this morning, according to police.

Three persons travelling on the moving truck died whereas one sustained critical injuries in the incident.

DSP Apil Raj Bohora, the chief of the Metropolitan Police Circle in Kalimati, says the victims have been identified as Roshan Tamang (24), Madhav Ghimire (37) and Bhuwendra Tamang, all from Nuwakot district. They had died while undergoing treatment at nearby Sahid Memorial Hospital.

Meanwhile, Bijaya Tamang (22) from Tarakeshwar of Nuwakot is undergoing treatment.

Police have arrested both drivers for further investigation.
