Kathmandu, January 5
Central Investigation Bureau on Thursday seized about 20 kg of gold from an Air Arabia plane at Tribhuvan International Airport, a source said. Acting on a special tip-off, a CIB team arrested Gopal Bahadur Shahi of Banke with the illegal consignment.
The source told Onlinekhabar: The consignment was wrapped in plastic and we guess its weight is around 15-20 kg.
Shahi had gone to the airport to receive the luggage that contained gold. It was sent from Dubai. CIB is interrogating Shahi.
The source said police are searching for the owner of the illegal consignment.
