Kathmandu, June 10
Minister for Home Affairs, Ram Bahadur Thapa, said that his attention was drawn towards the release of multi-billion rupee fraudster, Sudheer Basnet.
Responding to victims of his fraudulent activities, the Home Minister said, “I am here to provide justice to everyone who has been the victim of injustice. I will get the details first.”
Submitting a memorandum to Minister Thapa, the victims demanded that the government arrest Basnet again as he was a ‘big criminal’.
“We were shocked to hear the release of Basnet on bail. What is the use of sentencing jail term to criminals if they are released on bail without completing the punishment? We want the compensation amount as soon as possible,” they said.
“Instead of encouraging such crime, the concerned authorities must work on implementing the laws strictly so that no criminals can violate it,” demanded the victims.
