Leaders of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal stage a sit-in demanding corrections in the list of party’s proportional representation candidate, in Kathmandu, on Wednesday, October 18, 2017.

Kathmandu, October 18

A group of central leaders of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal has staged a sit-in at the party’s central office in Kathmandu demanding that the closed list of party’s proportional representation candidates for upcoming provincial and federal parliamentary elections be corrected.

They have accused the party leadership of preparing the list on the basis of nepotism, and discrimination was made according to ethnicity and financial status as well.

Party’s General Secretary Keshav Jha is leading the protest. Other participants include central members BP Yadav, Deepak Kumar Jha, Dipendra Agrawal and Narendra Jha. Leaders of the party’s youth wing Roshan Singh Rana, Gayatri Kumari, Mukesh Karna and Peshal Dhakal have also supported them.

They have demanded that those who have not contributed to the party and those who have already enjoyed beneficial positions a number of times be removed from the list.

Instead, youth and student leaders should be included, according to them.
