Kathmandu, November 25

Nepal Students Union, the student wing of Nepali Congress (NC), on Sunday staged a sit-in at the NC party office in Sanepa of Lalitpur to put pressure on the leadership to create environment conducive for its 12th general assembly.

“It has been more than two years since its previous 11th assembly was organised. But there is not any indication that the assembly is going to be organised soon,” said NSU leader Dipak Bhattarai to Rastriya Samachar Samiti.

He also accused the leadership of delaying assembly by extending the term of current committee of the student wing by two months.

“Over two years have elapsed, how can we believe the assembly will be convened in next two months?” he said.

Meanwhile, the NC Central Working Committee meeting is going on at the party central office.
