Humla: Cold, fever claim six lives in past one week

At least six persons succumbed to cold, cough and fever in various places of Humla district in past one week after the mercury plummeted further.

Recently, Ranadevi Pariyar (27) and Nandakala Pariyar (60) of Tajakot Rural Municipality-5 died due to the diseases. Their village is 50 miles away from the district headquarters, Simikot.

Earlier, four persons from Rodikot in Sarkegad Rural Municipality had died.

Officiating Chief District Officer Riddhi Prakash Sitaula says he has directed health professionals to go to the affected area with medicines.

The cold weather has affected senior citizens and elderly mostly, according to locals.
