The Area Administration Office of Humla in Sarkeghat has started to issue citizenship to four rural municipalities of the district.

With this, residents of Sarkeghat, Changkheli, Adanchuli and Tanjakot rural municipalities can issue their citizenships. Before this, the residents had to walk three to four days to Simkot, the district headquarters for the same.

The Office is starting its services six years after its establishment as per the Civil Service Act, 1993.

Under the leadership of acting chair Bhim Bahadur Rokaya, the office has already issued new citizenship to five residents and copies to two of the residents there.

The residents of the four rural municipalities can now also issue passports and recommendations among other remote documentation services from the Office.
