The government has defended its decision of not revealing decisions made by the Cabinet meeting to the public immediately.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s press advisor Kundar Aryal says the government has decided so, not to hide the information, but to make the dissemination process for effective and systematic.

Now onwards, the government spokesperson or the Minister for Communications and Information Technology will host a press meet every week to share Cabinet decisions and interact with journalists over various issues, according to Aryal.

The interaction would most probably take place every Thursday.

“It is not that the government is trying to hide the information on the decisions. It is thinking how these could be disseminated in a more effective and systematic way,” Aryal has been quoted in a Rastriya Samachar Samiti report.
