A young man who went missing in Badimalika, a religious and tourist destination in Bajura, has been found dead.
Manish Bohara, 20, of Daiji in Bedkot Municipality, Kanchanpur, had been missing since Friday following heavy snowfall.
According to Chief District Officer Muktiram Rijal, a team of security personnel was dispatched by helicopter from the district headquarters on Sunday morning to search for the missing youth.
During the search, Bohara was found dead near Triveni Patan in Badimalika, Rijal said.
He added that efforts were underway to airlift Bohara’s body and the security personnel involved in the search operation.
Meanwhile, Sagar Karki, 21, of Krishnapur Municipality-2, Kanchanpur, who had been stranded at Triveni Patan in Badimalika following the snowfall, was rescued by helicopter on Saturday afternoon and brought to Martadi.
Karki had been staying at a shelter in Triveni Patan since Friday after heavy snowfall disrupted his return journey from visiting the Badimalika temple, located at an altitude of 4,200 metres.
