A girl has been found dead in Ward 3 of Shambhunath Municipality in Saptari.
Three-year-old Sania Khatun, daughter of resident Irfan, was found dead behind her house. According to her family, the girl was last seen at home around 9 am on Sunday.
She was later found during search efforts, her body discovered in bushes roughly 60 meters behind the house.
Police reached the scene as soon as they received word of the incident. Superintendent of Police Rupak Khadka, chief of the District Police Office, Saptari, said police have begun the necessary investigation into the case.
Police said an investigation into the cause of the girl’s death is underway. A large crowd of residents gathered at the scene.
