The main opposition CPN-UML has urged the Prachanda government to clarify about the planned visit of China’s President Xi Jinping.

Speaking in the Parliament on Friday, UML lawmaker Rajendra Pandey called the government to respond to reports that President Xi’s planned visit to Nepal will not take place.

Prime Minister Prachanda is not adopting a balanced foreign policy

Prime Minister Prachanda is not adopting a balanced foreign policy, Pandey observed, adding: China’s President Xi was set to visit Nepal. But there are reports now that he is not coming. The government should disclose the facts to the Parliament.

He also demanded to know whether Prachanda’s address to the Parliament contained his government’s policies and programmes.

Pandey recalled Prachanda asking then Oli government from where will the money come for implementation of its programmes. And he asked: From where will this government get money to implement its programmes?

When earthquake victims are not even getting Rs 50,000, this government has announced a package of eight lakh rupees to each affected family. At the end of the day, will the victims get assurances only and nothing else?
